ABOUT ME

35855183654_9e6373ac25_o.jpg

My passion, my experience, and my curiosity is in building and sharing movement practices. While I have traditional yoga credentials - including a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification as well as additional certificates in Yin and  Restorative - the experiences I find most relevant are the summers I spent living and working at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Miso soup for breakfast, washing the guest's dishes, time to read and research - the experience was so much more than certifications. I realize then what I had begun to discover in my theater training; movement practice builds my life, even as my life builds my practice.

And I work everyday to build it into my life and share it. I am in the process of completing my 1600 hour Alexander Technique Teacher Certification, practicing meditation daily, and trying to get my wife to buy a better office chair. I appreciate how connected it all can be. Movement is the foundation of our daily lives.

Open Yoga is my way of doing what I love in the best way I know how.

Over the past few years of teaching yoga instructors, I've seen how rich learning happens in yoga teacher trainings. The hours are longer, there is time for exploration, and students learn and grow in a community. That’s the forum I am hoping to build here. Open Yoga is designed to make that environment accessible to a broader audience, with a less intense time commitment and at an affordable price point.
